Adapt is a small charity who provide support to families with premature and unwell babies on the neonatal units at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospital. We also provide ongoing care after families have gone home.
Having a premature or poorly baby can happen to anyone and because everything occurs so quickly and usually unexpectedly, it can leave you feeling upset, confused, scared and vulnerable.
Although the medical care these babies receive is amazing, what happens to the parents who are living day by day or sometimes hour by hour, not knowing whether their tiny, poorly baby will survive can be a very traumatic experience.
We have family support workers who visit the Neonatal Units in both hospitals. They are in daily contact with all new parents at the hospitals, giving them the support and help they need in any way they can whether it be just a friendly face to talk to or help with more practical and financial issues.
As our support workers are part time you may miss them but do not hesitate to call or email - details are available on our Contact Us page - and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Adapt Prembabies Need A Miracle
Unfortunately due to the lack of funds, Adapt have had to reduced my hours on the units. This will be reviewed soon and it may lead to more reductions for all the ADAPT Team.
You all know how important the support I gave you was on the units so can you please help spread the word that we really do need some help.
I need to be there for parents like I was for you. If you have any ideas on who we can approach or any ideas at all we would be really grateful. We know it’s tough out there and we are constantly applying for grants but you write parent support on an application form and it must go straight in the bin.
There must be someone out there that can help save Adapt?
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL FUNDRAISERS USING VIRIGN MONEY GIVING:
If you would like to make a donation to Adapt, no matter how small or large, please can you ensure that you opt in for Charity Marketing.
If you don't opt in, your donation will come through to us anonymously and we will not know who or where the donation has come from.
For those of you who already have an Virgin Money Giving account, you will need to update your personal account again to "Opt-in for Charity Marketing".
This has come about because of the new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) laws which came into force in May 2018.
Thank you for your on-going support!
