About ADAPT
ADAPT was set up in December 1995 by Rob and Fiona Morris, following the birth of their son Harry the previous year. Harry was born at 29 weeks and despite weighing a promising three pounds, he was a very sick baby with chronic lung disease. He was on the neonatal unit at Leicester Royal Infirmary for nine months before going home on oxygen.
Although the medical care of Harry had been excellent, there were times when Rob and Fiona felt very alone, despite the support of family and friends. Their experiences were not ones they could share with most other parents. It was the contact with parents who were also going through the daily ups and downs of having a baby on the unit, that prompted them to set up ADAPT.
